Hello! Welcome to my creative flow

Hey y’all, welcome! My name is Taylor and I’m an American artist based in Charleston, South Carolina. My contemporary abstract paintings and mixed media works are inspired by the atmosphere around me - notably the historic buildings and streets of Charleston, South Carolina. I enjoy bringing historic moments into contemporary artwork using color and texture - preserving the past for modern homes. I hope my work entices you to be more playful. I hope it encourages your curiosity, movement and pleasure!

But why am I starting a blog page? Well honestly, I’ve started to realize how much I enjoy sharing my creative process, behind the scenes in my studio, where I’m pulling inspiration, how I keep my creative flow nurtured, and I also want to start sharing tips and tricks on framing for originals and my flat giclee prints, share materials I use, why I purchased a 223lb Epson printer :) There’s so many things that get lost in the algorithms, so let’s give my long winded insights a home!

I just launched an extension of my Mixed Medias, a new Travel series highlighting New Orleans! Y’all know I’m infatuated with the historic streets of Charleston, but being from Mississippi, some of my first memories seeing old textures, pops of color in historic architecture is when we’d visit New Orleans. I luckily still get to visit the Jazz capital of the world fairly often, and on my recent visit I captured some really gorgeous photos of this lively city. Uptown, Magazine St, the French Quarter, Bourbon, Frenchman. So, def pop over to my Instagram to check out their evolution before they are launched here on my website!

And to get a better sense of my contemporary abstract style, visit my recent abstract painting collections inspired by the historic textures and colors of Charleston, South Carolina.

Charleston Green collection, This collection is a nod to the beautiful historic Charleston Green color you can find all over town. The regal color unofficially coming to life during the reconstruction after the Civil War, Charleston local homes and buildings display the color proudly on shutters, doors, window boxes, and more.

Charleston Texture & Light, inspired by the charming colors, textures and light that I found on morning and evening strolls through downtown Charleston’s historic streets.

Originals and giclee canvas prints are available for both of these lovely collections + other beautiful fine art prints!

I’m excited to invite you in a bit more through these posts! If you have anything specific you’re interested in, LMK! Make sure you’re signed up for my emails to stay in the loop on recent posts, early access on new work, and more!
